We were challenged with providing a draft-free solution that would improve the manual door entrance to a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), in Lutterworth.
In association with Keenan Project Designs, who carried out the groundworks for the site, we supplied, installed and commissioned a glazed lobby with a manual door, along with an automatic door for disabled access.
Consideration had to be given to the glazed curtain walling section above the roof of the lobby during construction. The roof section wasn’t straight forward, as the curtain walling was obsolete – with no markings, so it was difficult to match the sections.
With a glazed roof made up of kestrel aluminium sections to match the original glazed curtain walling, Automatic Access fabricated the glazed lobby to 3 sides.
Suitable for wheelchair users, we installed an automatic door in the lobby to assist disabled access at the top of a ramp. The manual door on the opposite side of the lobby was installed for the more able-bodied employees and visitors’, who access the building via steps.
